Description

An ICT Desktop Engineer at BKB Ltd will be a key player in maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, supporting both internal users and external clients. Based in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, this permanent role involves helpdesk and asset administration, hardware and software installation, and troubleshooting across various technologies including SYSPRO POS systems and CCTV. The position demands a proactive, customer-focused individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills, ready to travel and contribute to BKB’s mission of doing things differently in a rapidly evolving world

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems
  • Maintain desktop management documentation such as job cards
  • Maintain an average ticket update of a minimum of 5 to 7 updates per day over a period of 3 months
  • Maintain the ICT service level agreement priority structure with a 75% success ratio
  • Project and maintain a professional image of BKB ICT during all client interactions in line with BKB Core Values
  • Strive to add exceptional value to all customer relationships when interacting with internal and external customers
  • Install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize desktop and laptop hardware and software
  • Provide end-user training where required
  • Support and troubleshoot hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and copiers
  • Support and troubleshoot software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintain agreed levels of interaction with BKB Divisions, Subsidiaries, and Clients

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 with a relevant diploma in the IT field
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Engineer
  • Experience and support of SYSPRO Point-of-Sale systems
  • Previous work experience in a Retail Environment
  • Valid Code 08 Driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bilingual in Afrikaans and English
  • Strong administrative skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid knowledge in the administration and support of Microsoft Windows and Networks
  • Cisco Meraki experience will be advantageous

  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
